The National Stars and Stripes Museum Library will be celebrating our 3rd Annual Spirit of Democracy Banquet and Silent Auction. This event will be held at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Saturday, November 5, 2022. There will be delicious food, live music, a cash bar, raffles, and more. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the program will start at 6:00 p.m.
We are pleased to announce that Helen Patton, granddaughter of legendary WWII tank commander General George S. Patton, Jr. will be our guest speaker along with Kevin Hymel, author of Patton’s War, An American General’s Combat Leadership. The duo will be honoring Patton’s legacy and regaling stories of Patton’s leadership. Hymel has uncovered new sources from the research of soldiers’ memoirs and interviews, adding a new dimension to the telling of Patton’s WWII story.
