Paint for a Cause Fundraiser: Honor Your Family's Veterans in a Colorful Tribute
A Unique Opportunity to Leave Your Mark on History
The Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library in Bloomfield, MO, is excited to announce a vibrant year-long project that allows everyone to become part of our living history. “Paint for a Cause” is a community-driven mural initiative that offers a colorful way to honor our military heroes while supporting the museum’s mission.
This project consists of five panels, each standing 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide, designed with triangles that visitors can paint, adding their touch to a collaborative masterpiece. Once completed, this collective piece will be prominently displayed on the large, red barn beside the museum.
How It Works
In-Person Participation: For just a $2 donation, anyone can paint a triangle on our mural. No artistic experience required!
- Open to all ages and abilities
- Paint and brushes provided
- Expert guidance on where to paint
- Available at Painted Wren Art Gallery in Cape Girardeau, MO (Tue-Sat, 1-6 p.m.) and periodically at The Stars and Stripes Museum
Remote Participation: Can’t make it in person? For a $5 donation, one of our artists will paint a triangle in your name.
Honor Your Veterans
This is your chance to create a lasting tribute to the veterans in your family:
- Paint in memory of a fallen hero
- Honor a currently serving family member
- Recognize the service of veterans across generations
Each painter’s information, including who they’re honoring, will be recorded in a special journal that will become part of the museum’s collection.
The Big Picture
- The completed mural will be permanently installed on the big, red barn at The Stars and Stripes Museum
- This project will run for a year or more until completion
- All proceeds and the commemorative journal will be donated to the museum
How to Participate
In-Person:
- Visit Painted Wren Art Gallery or check our schedule for when the mural will be at The Stars and Stripes Museum
- Make a $2 donation
- Paint your triangle and record your information
Remote Participation:
- Make a $5 donation via PayPal to barbaraon.minis@gmail.com
- Include your name, age, occupation, town, and state
- Specify the name, rank, and branch of service for each military person you wish to honor
