On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Jim Martin arrived in beautiful Bonner Springs, Kansas. He presented a Proclamation recognizing Topeka as a true Stars and Stripes City. Mayor Padilla (a veteran), his wife, the chief of police, fire chief, and other dignitaries were present. Mayor Padilla pledged to do everything he can to further the mission of informed citizenship, commitment, and service.
Mr. Martin also met with the Kansas governor’s staff at the Capitol to talk about creating a state Veterans Hall of Fame similar to what we’re doing in Missouri to honor veterans and their service to their communities.
